Camp Expectations

We understand that all of us have different rules in our own homes.  These camp expectations are not meant to offend anyone’s own personal standards but to ensure a consistent environment in keeping with Christian principles and Florida College standards…

Clothing:  

  1. All shorts or skirts must TOUCH THE KNEECAP
  2. Clothing that has holes with skin showing above the knee is prohibited.
  3. All shirts or tops must have modest necklines and armholes and cover the midriff while raising the arms over your head. 
  4. No tank tops and no tops that show the midsection or cleavage.  
  5. No tops that are sheer or reveal undergarments.  
  6. Guys should wear shirts at all times.  No open sided shirts for guys.
  7. No leggings or yoga pants of any kind may be worn, this includes jeggings.
  8. Tight pants or tops should NOT be worn.
  9. No clothing should display profanity, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, sexual content, death, hate, violence, or anything the camp committee deems inappropriate.
  10. Clothes used for water day activities must not become see-through or cling closely to the body when wet.
  11. Campers are allowed to wear earrings and/or a small nose stud. All other piercings must be removed.
  12. Athletic shoes must be worn at all running activities (no flip-flops).
  13. Shoes must be worn at all times outside of dorms. 

Language/Communication:

  1. Profanity or abusive speech of any kind should never be used.
  2. Talk, references, or innuendo about sex in any way will not be tolerated.
  3. Campers should always talk in a respectful and cooperative way.

Behavior:

  1. We are a no-prank camp.
  2. No horseplay or rough housing that has the potential to be dangerous or harmful is permitted.
  3. Harassment of any kind is not acceptable
  4. All medications are to be turned into the camp nurse.  Only the nurse is to dispense medication.
  5. The use of tobacco, alcohol & drugs (this includes vaping & e-cigarettes) will not be tolerated.
  6. Being disrespectful to staff or disobedient to rules will not be tolerated.
  7. Inappropriate contact between sexes (including homosexual behavior or talk) will not be tolerated.
  8. No public display of affection is permitted
  9. Campers may not be alone with a member of the opposite sex in a private place.
  10. Name tag lanyards must be worn at all times.
  11. Campers are expected to respect the personal property of others. Theft is not tolerated.
  12. Should another’s personal property be damaged by a camper, the parent/guardian of that camper will be held responsible for damages.

Miscellaneous Rules

  1. Campers’ cars are to be left parked and locked at all times with all keys turned in at registration.
  2. Campers are to attend, be on time, and participate in all activities.
  3. Opposite sex dorms are off limits. 
  4. Only visit same sex dorms when invited and accompanied by one who lives there.
  5. No cameras in the dorms.  Photos are only to be taken outside of dorms.

Unacceptable Items 

  1. Do not bring electronics of any kind to camp.  (Cell phones, iPods, iPads, mp3’s, radios, portable speakers, laptops, etc)  This week of camp is the perfect time to “unplug” from the world and focus on your friends at camp!  Fitbits are acceptable if they do not text/connect to the internet.
  2. No weapons of any kind (no knives, no BB guns, etc.)
  3. No fireworks or lighters of any kind.
  4. Do not bring water guns, balloons, or other prank type items.
  5. Do not bring food from home unless you have dietary allergies – that food will be kept in the kitchen and handed out at meals from one of the kitchen staff.

Improper behavior, including failure to comply with the above rules, may result in a camper being sent home before the end of camp.

We believe that following these expectations will make for a fantastic week at camp.
